God’s plan never fails

“And when he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:4-6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

This passage is a great reminder to me that God’s plan will not fail, even if it looks like it will at first. Simon says to Jesus that they fished all night and caught nothing but Jesus said to let down the nets for a catch and Simon caught more fish than he could handle.  God’s plan was not that Simon catch the fish on his own but instead, through relying on Jesus.

I run into this situation daily where I encounter something I can’t do on my own or that falls right through my hands and I forget that maybe I just need to give to Jesus.  What else in my life could I give to Jesus?  The answer is A LOT.

My takeaway from this is that my plans will inevitably fail because I am broken and fallible but because God is perfect, His plans will never fail.  I need to trust that He is working for my good and give it to Him, completely.

God is good, God is sovereign and God is a much better at planning than I am.  Of this I have no doubt.

God bless.
